For hairdressers

Put braids on the service menu

Next time a client asks for braids, you can confidently say yes.

For braiders

Charge more for your work

Cleaner braids and cooler styles move every price on your list up.

Every “sorry, I don’t braid” sends money out the door

If you work with hair for a living, you’ve had the ask. Sport season, festival time or simply someone who wears braids as a daily style.

Requests you can’t take

Braids get asked for every week, and the answer is always no.

Money spent elsewhere

The client still gets braids, with whoever said yes, and that’s who they rebook.

Braids that fall apart

Self-taught braids that look right for a day and go fuzzy in a couple of days.

Nobody to guide you

When a braid fails, there’s no one to tell you what your hands did wrong.

Ksenia Unru · Braids & Waves, Perth

Learn from a top 100 braider in the world, three years running

Most professionals who braid taught themselves in stolen hours between clients, guessing at what their hands were doing wrong. Ksenia teaches the part a tutorial can’t: what your hands are doing, corrected while you braid. Her salon runs on braiding, with clients driving in from regional WA.

workshop structure

Two days, and most of it is you braiding

The structure is simple: get the foundations right, then practise until they hold.

Day 01

Foundations and cornrows

Hand placement, tension, body position, sectioning, then straight cornrows start to finish. The rest of the day is practise, with Ksenia correcting your hands.

Day one foundations at the mannequin heads

Day 02

Recap, then patterns

Morning practise to lock it in, then curved parts and the intricate sectioning that sells at a premium. You leave with a take-home practice plan.

Day two curved parts and pattern work

optional add-on:

Hair extensions

If you want to learn braiding with extensions to add more volume, length and a splash of colour, you can add an optional hair extensions lesson.

Day two curved parts and pattern work

optional add-on:

One-on-one session

If you want Ksenia to personally help you with whatever you're struggling with, you can add an additional one-on-one lesson after the workshop.
